Today is Good

Braxton said that this week was good. They had 8 new investigators and were able to teach them. They were able to reach their goals.

Braxton was eating at a ladies house and she needed more tortillas and so Braxton and her son went on bikes to a tortilleria (store for tortillas). He almost got hit by a few cars and then he said "I kind of crashed in front of 4 old people." But, he caught himself! He thinks that's probably why they don't have bikes in the mission. (I'm glad). Victor, the kid he was with got chased by dogs. "Great times."

The family Braxton is living with is moving to Utah to start a Mexican Restaurant. Braxton said that their food is really good and he eats it every morning.

It rained pretty hard the other day and the cars were having a hard time with all the water. Braxton was glad he wasn't in a car that day because it was pretty scary.

His comp was dancing in the street the other day and stepped on a dog.

Braxton is wearing his long pj's he got for Christmas and his socks every night because it is really cold. He can see his breath in the morning inside his house. He wasn't told to bring warm things so he wasn't prepared for the weather they are getting. "God knew though and fattened me up so I could handle the cold. Man, talk about blessing in disguise."

Sweet Week!

Braxton had a really good week. He said he didn't know what they changed but things were awesome. They found 18 new investigators and taught 16 lessons. (which is a lot) They have an interview with Sonia Rojas who they have been teaching and she should be getting baptized. (I think he said on Friday) Now they are just going to try hard to get all these people to church on Sunday.

He had a Conference with his President and said it was cool. He loves conferences because they get him so pumped up.

Now for the funny things that don't really mean anything, unless of course you are a missionary.
primero...."I was on a bus and some guy just started talking loud and fast and it was a while before I realized he was talking to me. He was swearing and yelling white people this, your country that, blah, blah, blah about your religion and I just kept ignoring him. People would look at me like are you okay and I'd just smile and continue looking forward. Then when the guy got off the bus he said nos vemos (good bye) and everyone on the bus responded and was glad he got off. Oh, the blessings of being an American."

segundo...."we were on a hill the other day and three kids had flattened 2 litre pop bottles and would use them as a sled to slide down the cement roads. It was funny, and I really wanted to play with them, but decided I needed act mature."

tercero...."we had a drive by were some guys squirted us. I don't know why some people hate Americans so bad, and my poor comp has to go through it all with me. haha"

cuarto...."I spit off this high bridge and there was a lot of spit so as it went down fast it would expand out like a parachute. I was rather impressed with myself."

quinto...."oh this is good...as we were walking down a street a guy took his hat off and blew his nose in it. Yuck, how gross is that!"

"Everything is Super Duper Dandy here in Ticoman Mexico."

Still in Ticoman

Braxton is still with Elder Herrera and they are having fun and working really hard. Elder Herrera had contacted a guy who is from California. I guess they were at the top of a hill (hill being an understatement). Braxton said it was amazing. It was the coolest lesson ever, everything made sense to the guy. He even said the prayer at the end and was so filled with the spirit that he was crying. Braxton thought that experience was awesome. The guy wants to read the Book of Mormon and start going to Church the first chance he get. "It's times like these that make being a missionary so worth it."

Someone told Braxton that he looked older than 19. Now that hasn't happened before! So, I guess Brax is all grown up now. At least that is what he said. (a day no one thought would ever come) hahahahahaha! (those are his words)

They should be having a baptism pretty soon. They have been teaching Sonia Rojas and not that things have settled down from the Holidays they will talk to her about a baptismal date. Braxton said she is a really neat lady who just wants to do her best.
